Alright. I heard the story from the drone. Or Acolyte, or whatever the frag they're called. But can anybody out there tell me what the Pit is actually going on here? And why I've suddenly gained an extra, glowing brand that I don't recognize on my arm?

Because if this is all some kind of overly-elaborate joke or some Quintesson's latest idea on how to mess with us, someone is gonna get it...

Ugh... Is every mech I talk to here gonna make a crack about my paintjob? Yes, I know it's not the greatest, OK? But when you're a Seeker you have to distinguish yourself from every other bot with your body-type somehow. Trust me, I've seen worse.

So I'm coming to understand... [rubs at the blue Nexian brand on his upper arm a bit self-consciously.] So... do I have to report to whoever's brand I've got, or something?

[He's clearly not especially enthused about mockery of his paintjob being the new handshake.] And I'll have to show you a few of the image files I've got floating around sometime; you really won't believe some of these til you see them. [Yes, Knockout, you too will be subject to animal print jets and whatever the hell this is jets.

[He gives a slight nod of greeting.] Jadewing. And that's good to know, given that I'm stuck with one of them. Don't suppose you know anything about this Nexus guy, though?

The name's Knock Out, one of the resident doctors. Their glyph keeps you from going insane so that's also a plus. I didn't talk to Nexus much but he was a pretty relaxed fellow as far as god-like entities go.

Medic, huh? Good to know there's some around. [One thing several million years of war have taught him: medics are grand and wonderful things to have around.] And yeah, sanity is always a plus.

[pause] Wait, you said 'was'? I thought these 'First Forged' guys were still around?

Yes, and one of the best. There's actually more than four of us around here but one is psychopathic. I don't recommend it to you. If you cross paths with a Ratchet that has a purple Autobot symbol fly away really fast. [See' he's kind enough to warn the newbies.]

They left some months ago, they say they would be back one day but who knows.

Just a wild guess, but is he form the same place as the glitchy, white Ravage and friendly Starscream?

Yeah. The glitchy Ravage was the first one to respond to me. And I'm meeting the friendly Starscream for a drink later.

[Because all this slag require the kind of bracing that only a stiff drink can provide.]

Ravage is annoying but you'll get used to it. The white Starscream is much better than the regular one.

Yeah, that's what Starscream said too. As for Starscream himself, I haven't even officially met him yet and I already like him better than the Starscream I knew.

[Knock out has to snort at that.] The original Starscream, no matter the universe, has that particular talent when it comes to annoy people.

I can believe it. Does yours have a screechy, high-pitched voice too?

He does! Even more when he's irritated. [Which is why it's so fun to irritate him.]

Watching him rant was always fun. Long as it wasn't focused on you, at any rate.

It stops being fun when he does that. It's a blessing that we don't have to worry about that here, not anymore. [Of course there are still Starscream around but they're no one's superior.]

Yeah. Can't say I'm gonna miss mine, either. Don't think anybody really will, to be honest.

Maybe Jetfire if you have one of those in your universe.

We have a Skyfire, yeah. Though I dunno how he feels about Starscream now, though, if he feels anything at all.

The ones we have here are dating. Jetfire and Starscream. Skyfire is here too but he's single.




Yes, it's as weird as it sounds. Jetfire seemed like a sane bot at first.

Heh... well there's no accounting for taste, I guess. Does explain a few things, though.

Starscream convinced Skyfire to join the Decepticons when they first dug him out of the ice he'd crashed in millions of years ago. It lasted about a day, before Starscream shot him for refusing to execute some human prisoners. Skyfire joined the Autobots not long after.

It's really gotta be some kind of record for fastest defection.

Ah, Starscream...always the charmer. I'm surprised Skyfire didn't shoot him back. But he wouldn't be Skyfire if he did.

You are still with the Decepticons? [He makes it sound like such a casual question.]

Not sure he could've shot back right then. Virtually point blank null-ray to the chest tends to cause enough damage to incapacitate, even for a big guy like Skyfire.

And yeah, technically. Though I'm told that doesn't make much difference around here.

[He clearly doubts this, but is going with it for the time being.]

Nah. Not planning on shooting any Autobots unless they try to shoot me first. Not worth the trouble when you don't have officers on your wings making you do it.
