[Video] One grumpy Seeker, coming up...

[Hello, Haven. Now appearing on your comms is a probably familiar form, though with a very unfamiliar paint job. Maybe Thundercracker or Starscream decided to try a new look?

Nope. Once this new Seeker speaks, it's clear that he's a stranger. A new arrival most likely. Whoever he is, though, he's clearly not very happy.]

Alright. I heard the story from the drone. Or Acolyte, or whatever the frag they're called. But can anybody out there tell me what the Pit is actually going on here? And why I've suddenly gained an extra, glowing brand that I don't recognize on my arm?

Because if this is all some kind of overly-elaborate joke or some Quintesson's latest idea on how to mess with us, someone is gonna get it...

Ah... probably not, no. He does seem fairly similar to the one from mine, and from what you say, to the one you know as well. So Starscream might be an... ah, better option.

... Talking of Starscreams, we do have another Starscream present. The one from my reality.

[Then he pauses, frowning. If they just had had more knowledge from where Megatron got his clone army and who owns the sharkticons, Jetfire would know what quintessons are, but alas!]

And yeah. Typically five different faces; which one's talking seems to depend on their mood.

[Chuckling dryly, Jetfire shrugs.]

With multiple realities, the chance that the same individual would exist in the others if they exist in one, especially when the realities seem to stem from a few variables.

... Five faces though. Seems rather... ah, inefficient.

[And silly, since he has no good reference to know that the quintessons can be rather terrifying.]

[It takes Jadewing a moment to work out what was said there, but then he nods.]

Yeah. Doesn't mean you want more than one around though. [And he'll take the friendly one, TYVM.]

[And he can tell you're amused, even if you're not stating it outright.]

Yeah. Sounds silly til you've actually seen one face to faces. With their schools of sharkticons and gatorcons to back them up. Or from behind energy bars while one plans to use you as an experimental subject.

[He hadn't actually experienced the latter, but Cyclonus had. The former, though, he'd had some experience with.]

The base personality does make more than one being present a bit of a... ah, strain, perhaps. [His expression gets a bit arch.] At least with the two Starscreams being present being as dissimilar as they are, it means there's only one with the behaviour most of us are used to.

[And then Jetfire frowns, rubbing his chin.]

Sharkticons, hm? So they belong to the quintessons? We've had a few incidents of those things...

Yeah. The one with your color scheme seems alright. It's the other one you mentioned I'm hoping to not run into for awhile.

[Along with hoping no more show up, but he's not about to tempt fate by saying that aloud.]

Yep. Ugly fraggers aren't they? Just a good thing that they're about as smart as they are pretty.

Mmhm. They are both brilliant, but the Starscream you like better are, admittedly more... ah, easily associated with. And as for Starscream, you might not, unless you are staying in Megatronus' temple.

[He tilts his helm a little then and chuckles dryly.]

Rather, yes. Far more vicious than intelligent, which probably is a very good thing indeed.

Good to know. Especially since I'm apparently in Nexus'.

[Shifts the camera a bit briefly to show his left shoulder and the glowing, blue glyph on it.]

Yeah. Given that they're about 80% teeth, it's lucky for us they don't know how to make better use of them. Gatorcons seem to be marginally smarter, though not by a whole lot. Guess the Quintessons like 'em that way; dumb, vicious, and easy to control.

At least you know what he looks like, which will make it easier to avoid him if you wish.

And I guess they fight with... ah, quantity and not quality, given the features of their forces.

[nods] One good thing about Starscream, he's easy to see coming.

Yeah. What's it matter how many Sharkticons get smashed, long as they get what they want, right? [There's a note of bitterness in that sentence, the lowly sharkticon's position too easy to compare to his own.]

[He grins faintly at that and shakes his helm. It is true after all.]

With a lack of respect for other people's autonomy and governance of their possessions, resources and territory usually comes some sort of disregard for things under ones own control, only valuing it as long as it gives you what you want... whether sentience of those 'things' are present or not, I've noticed.

[Oh so dry. Is that a judgement of more than just hypothetical quintessons? Whatever do you mean?? Of course not.]

Usually, yes.

[Just as dry as Jetfire, there. He clearly shares your hypothetical opinions, sir.]

Sounds like you might have had a bit of personal experience in that regard too.

Not with quintessons no. But it sounded... ah, reasonable, back then, when Megatron said that. Scientific advancement seemed worth it. It stopped seeming so relatively soon.

[He was slow to join and relatively slow to leave, though he didn't stay long.]

Hmph... Then from what I've heard, you and the Skyfire from my world have something in common. Apparently Starscream convinced him to join the Decepticons for awhile after they dug him out of the ice.

They said it lasted about a day before he changed sides. Wonder if that's some sort of record...

[Have a chuckle.]

Yes, we established that, since I believe he's present here. And at least he did not try staying despite previous ties.

[A shrug as he shifts slightly on his feet, optics narrowing briefly as he looks off-screen again.]

I stayed far longer than that, though it was a long while ago now.

... What was it that finally made you leave? With Skyfire, he refused to kill some human prisoners and Starscream shot him for it.

[pause as he considers that this might be something of a personal question for someone he just met]

You don't have to say if you don't want to. I'm just curious.

[The smile Jetfire gives is rather dry and lopsided as he slowly shakes his helm.]

Nothing so... ah, dramatic. Cumulative effect, really. It took a long while before I even started to listen to the doubts I was having. When the factions, temporarily as it'd turn out, started to splinter apart due to Optimus and Megatron's disappearances, I ended up leaving after finally admitting I couldn't stay any longer.

[More like, couldn't actually follow Starscream as he made his own faction and found he didn't really want or share enough of the ideology any more to stay with the main Decepticon one.]

Hmm... Our Cybertron was really too energy drained for much splintering to happen, at least on the Decepticons. Shockwave had control of the only major source of energon in Decepticon control for most of that time. So you either reported to Shockwave, or else. Only splinter faction on the Decepticon side was the one led by that crazy fragger Trannis, and that was put down pretty quickly.

As for the Autobots, they'd been organized in smaller groups for awhile before the Ark and Nemesis launched, so if they had any problems with it, I never found out. [shrugs]

The Cybertron you come from shut down as well? [It doesn't sound precisely as what the Great Shutdown was, but the similarity needs explored.]

As for the factions splintering, it happened long before the Ark and Nemesis left, and the factions ended up joining together again after Megatron and then Optimus were found to be alive and came back.

Pretty much. The war drained the planet's energy reserves to critical levels; the only reason we could still survive on it was that the war also greatly reduced the population. And Vector Sigma was taken offline somehow too, until fairly recently, which meant that no new bots could be brought online that way. Not that anyone was inclined to anyway, because, y'know, no energy.

[shrugs]

Wait... what happened that made Prime and Megatron disappear? Cause neither of them was ever exactly the type to just randomly wander off.

Sounds... ah, smiliar to what happened for us, though I left on a mission before Cybertron - temporarily it'd turn out - shut down completely. Apparently Shockwave later had a hand in reactivating mechs when the energon started to come back.

[He shakes his helm slowly and then smiles, somewhat dryly.]

Ah, well. It wasn't willing on either of their parts. Megatron was testing the first spacebridge prototype, and Prime... took it up to himself to make sure the test wouldn't conclude.

By throwing himself at Megatron and through the spacebridge... which was calibrated only for a single individual.

I don't think ours ever completely shut down. Though that honestly may have been preferable to limping along for four million years, mostly living off what little energy we could collect from our nearest star. A good number of bots were put in stasis, though, as things got tighter. Wasn't til after contact with Megatron and the Nemesis crew was reestablished that things started improving a bit.

I hear the Autobots are doing more rebuilding lately too, but I haven't been back since that started, so... [shrugs]

[Winces slightly though at the thought of such a spacebridge accident, then sighs and facepalms.]

Yeah... that sounds like something Prime would do alright.

As long as one can be sure things will come back, then yes... a... ah, restart might be preferable to anything else. [His expression turns somewhat grim from the earlier lighter one.] We didn't know, though, so there were mounting worries regarding energon to keep everything going.

It's relieving that Cybertron did regain its energon resources.

[Then he chuckles.]

Indeed. I'm sure we could've done it in some other way, but that's not what happened.

I guess. Things didn't so much 'restart' as 'pick up where they left off' once we had some energy to speak of again. For awhile, at least. Cybertron's still not back to anything close to full power though. And probably won't be for awhile, no matter what the Autobots do.

[Jadewing gives a small, amused 'heh' as well.]

Yeah. Neither of our Commanders seemed to have much sense sometimes, especially where their opposite number was concerned.

[He shakes his helm.] Unfortunate. As I understand it, for ours... it seems back to pre-war levels of energon.

Mmhm. Something of an issue when they are not just focused on each other, but few have their equal.
