The Zone: Part Two

Thanks to the distraction caused by the various creatures and anomalies, and the interference from the ever-increasing radiation, pinpointing the fallen 'meteor' and likely source of the attacks may have been difficult up until now.

But efforts to locate it have paid off.

South-west of Haven, there is a ridged valley that did not exist a week ago. In it's center is a massive, sprawling power plant, exhaust towers rising up to the horizon. It is literally crawling with more mutants.

As if that was not ominous enough, it is a nuclear power-plant.

Anyone who has been to Earth or knows their human history - or happen to be from a Tyran universe - may recognize it for what it is: Chernobyl, straight out of some alternate Ukraine. The facility is tucked in the middle of the valley like it landed there, edges slightly off and melded into the landscape, but entirely intact in it's crumbling, ominous glory. Despite being of human-make, the building is devoid of functional electric lights, the very air around it seeming to leech the light out of the surroundings, but it is far from lacking in 'living' activity.

The concentration of anomalies, radiation, and Lambda-like energy signatures is at it's strongest here, surrounding the moldering facility. Any sensors point to the readings only getting worse on the inside.

Any organics or particularly weak-armored Cybertronians are going to want protective shielding of some variety to participate in this attack. The radiation in this valley is well beyond safe levels, and only on the rise. Any attempts to simply attack from the air (unfortunately) do little damage, the majority of any ordnance hitting some sort of storm cloud-like anomaly thundering with increasing intensity above the facility.

It looks like it might be growing. Time is running out.

[blurr's offer is ignored because honestly? sentinel thinks he's lying. who would want to do that????

the arm grabbing, however, does make him stop. more in surprise at being grabbed than anything else. he primes his shield in response.] If you say so. Probably just another tiny pig thing.

Weeep. Did you broke your tailpipe, buddy? Blurr only managed to avoid that thanks to his speed. He wants that thing away from Sentinel and dead if possible, so he's going to use that modified gun he got from Blackarachnia and put Cliffjumper's shooting lessons to good us.

He almost blow off Sentinel's head.

So much for having good aim. At least that got the monster's attention, it's running towards him now.]

[You know what would be pretty excellent right now? A completely random and ridiculously good timed save. And that's exactly what you dudes get.

A ceiling panel right above Sentinel is apparently chopped to pieces, and the thing falls down right on top of him. Sorry Sentinel. Oh, and then Drift drops down through the ceiling too, also right on top of Sentinel. Drift launches off of his chin head towards the critter, easily catching up with the mutant thing and chopping it in half. Hot dog style. It's very gross.

Sorry if you get splattered with guts, Blurr.]

[considering sentinel's already on his ass, drift's landing only really knocks him back onto his... well, back.

he's a little confused on what he should be getting angry at; the panel, the growling organic thing that had the audacity to scare him or the heinous ceiling weeb that landed on his magnificent face. all three? all three. before the string of expletives makes it to his vocaliser, however, drift's finished making the sushi and all the fun is over.

propped up on his elbows and with a quirked optic ridge, he just about manages to get out an uncomprehending] ...What?

[Blurr just states at the whole show in shock and, to be honest, more than a little bit of disgust.

Thanks Drift for covering him in mutated blood that probably is also radiated as hell. His thin armor really appreciate it. If Blurr had a stomach you all would be seeing its contents.]

[Drift gives his sword a flick to get the blood and guts off and slides it back into it's scabbard, grinning sheepishly at Blurr.]

Oh, um. Sorry about that. Reflexes.

[and THEN he glances over at the guy he dropped on top of.]

Blurr brushes off the creature's entrails from him as he looks at Drift.] Thank you, by the way. You are really good with that sword.

[For some reason. He turned to Blurr and. Uhm. Gently plucks a bit of GUTS from that weird head spike of his.]

[he gives drift a look that could curdle milk and gets up, dusting himself off. another scowl at some of the splatter that got on his chest.]

BESIDES, NEW THING TO BE OFFENDED ABOUT:] We had it under control!

[Gee thanks, Drift. He still feels disgusting but finally there's less organic stuff on him. And Blurr doesn't feel just disgusting, he's starting to feel nauseous too but that might be the radiation around him. Blurr's going to ignore it because that's clearly how problems go away.]

Guys let's not fight, we have other problems to worry about. [Case in point, there's more chimeras approaching. This time Blurr's ready at least. He shoots at one of the chimeras and the fifth blast even hit it. It moves more slowly but doesn't stop.]

Maybe Cliff is right and I need to get me a bigger weapon.

That was under control? Gosh, I'm so embarrassed! I completely misread the situation!

[That's a nice hippie way of saying UP YOURS SENTINEL. Kind of. But since Blurr is such a cutie, Drift will leave the sassing at that. Also the chimeras are kind of a big deal. He readies his blades, waiting for Blurr to finish shooting before he charges in to attack the closest critter.]

[his face flushes red with...anger, embarrassment, pick one. the battlemask is up before he's done going scarlet however, due to the chimeras appearing.

SORT OF AT A LOSS OF WHAT TO DO, so he activates his own Totally-Not-Pillar-Gifted gun (forgetting, in the heat of the moment he'd lied to blurr about it) before... not shooting anything. thanks again, drift! your weeb ass is in the way! (like he couldn't make the shot if he wasn't a shitty marksman.) sentinel then swears, deactivates it, brings up his shield and shoves it at blurr before going the same route as drift: stabby shanky with his lance. maybe kicking one of the chimeras as well.

all this in the space of several seconds while yelling "GOD FRAGGING DAMNIT"

[Blurr grabs the shield if only because he's confused again about what is going on. He swear, his brain is usually not this slow, but it seems the radiation is catching up on him. He must be imagining things too because he doesn't remember Sentinel having a gun before.]

E-Ey wait for me!

[That's probably the first time he ever said that. Blurr runs after them, jumps and kicks a chimera on the head (one of them) and keeps moving forward.]

Maybe we ca trap them somewhere?

Drift carves his way through a couple more chimeras, leaping over Sentinel at least once to get at another one.

Blurr asking people to WAIT UP was kind of... a thing that never happened. Drift paused in his over the top slaughtering and called out to him.]

I think I can hold them here, you two should go on ahead.

[Ooooh now what SENTINEL.]

[hahahahahah leaving someone behind more like something sentinel will literally never do again, even if its some ass he's never met before now. the guy's still an autobot!!!!]

You think? [he pauses to whap a chimera e with the edge of his lance.] No, no. Think isn't happening. You're coming with us.

[Just wait until you see him trip and fall on his face too Drift, because that's what he's doing right now. Fragging dizziness, where did that come from?]

Uughhhh....[He stands up groggily and miraculously dodges a chimera trying to gnaw at his face. Out of instinct, Blurr hits it with the shield and it seems to do the trick, the beast takes a few steps back.

He rushes to Drift and Sentinel's side, grabbing Drift's arm in the process.]

NonononoNOONEisstayinghere.

[NOOOO DON'T FALL ON YOUR FACE. Well clearly there was something wrong with Blurr, unless he just happened to be falling on his face for his own amusement, which wasn't too likely. Drift frowned, looking Blurr over before glancing up at Sentinel.]

Fine, but I'm still the best equipped to fight things like this in such a tight space. I'll bring up the rear.

[HAHA HE LIKES TO SEE HE WAS RIGHT TO GIVE BLURR THE SHIELD

even though.... blurr fell over......... DEEP SIGH.] I'm not going to have to carry you again, am I?

[then, directed at drift:] Fine. Don't wander off, though. I'm not having any of this [handwave] taking one for the team bullslag.

[Yeas Sentinel, that helped a lot. Blurr will thank you for the shield once he stops feeling like his inner energon is burning.]

NoIamFINEthankyou! [That answer comes a bit too quickly. But Blurr always talks like that so it's hard to tell the difference. He almost trips again, though.

Focusing again, he shoots on the direction of the chimera. If he doesn't hit any at least they stop moving so fast.]

[But that's all the arguing Drift does. Honestly, he doesn't want to stray too far from Blurr. The little guy seems a bit off, and frankly, Drift wasn't feeling the best either.]

Whatever you came to do in here, we need to get it done fast.
