WATER [Open to all players!]

(OOC: Let me know if I'm doing this wrong--like, if this is the incorrect format for this re-aligned comm or something, I know there's more than one, and I'm sorta a little confused on which is for which? Anyway, here goes....)

Is this thing on?

[Korra lightly bangs at something, frowning--the screen shakes. She gives a big exaggerated sigh, then continues.]

Okay, I heard there were some other humans like me out here, so given that, I wanted to ask if any of you guys have found water? Like, any water at all, a pool, a river, even a freakin' flask of it? And y'know, same question to anyone, Cybertronians or spirits or whatever--have you seen water?

[Korra blinked, then added in a rush.]

And in case there's anyone who doesn't realize, water's a big deal for humans like me, we need it to survive.

[Korra moves to turn off the screen.]

Okay, that's it, hopefully someone gets in touch with me about this--

[Korra stretched too far or too fast, because she flinches, irritating the wound on her back. No way is she going to ask aloud for medical help. If she can find water, she can heal herself, thank you very much. But then the thought occurred to her--if there were other humans like her, were there like any other healers among them? What if there...weren't? A panicked expression suddenly flashes across Korra's face.]

Um, actually, quick head count--are there any human healers out there that can, y'know, heal...humans?

[Korra's expression distinctly reads without words, 'That sounded lame.']

Well, I'll, uh, raise my head first--or is it hand--?

[Korra shakes her head, raises a hand.]

Whatever, I can heal as long as I have water--it's a bending thing--uh, and that's a thing where I manipulate the water to like do whatever I want including heal the human body. So if there's a human out there who's hurt and has water or can find water, you can come to me for help.

[Korra paused, trying to think of anything else to add. She slowly shrugged.]

Okay, that's definitely it now...so, um, bye, hope to see someone with info on water soon.

Hmm. [ Ratchet's face, when it pops up on Korra's Link screen, is somewhat contemplative in expression. She may, however, miss that in favour of the fact that there is a "spirit" speaking to her with blue eyes blazing and something very similar to a Fire Nation warrior's helm on his head. ]

You can heal humans with water and nothing else?

(OOC: Thanks for the advice!)

[Korra jerks at the sudden Cybertronian? Spirit? mech tank? definitely nonhuman face that pops up on her screen. She'll still have to get used to all the new not-even-human people. Granted, his helm looked like a Fire Nation warrior's helm too, not unlike the first metal person she met, Knock Out. The familiarity calms and bewilders her simultaneously.]

Oh, hello there! [Korra gives a sheepish grin.] Yeah, I only know how to do it with water. It's possible to do it without it--[like nonbenders]--but I never learned [maybe I should've].

[Korra shakes herself out of a contemplative face.]

So, what's up? Are you just curious, or do you know someone that needs help? Or have you found water?

[Korra blinks, adding.]

My name's Korra, by the way. What's yours?

Water. [He nods.] I can look for it.

[While he's out here doing his AVOID EVERYONE EVER thing.]

If that's the case, I'd be greatly interested in seeing a demonstration of what you can do with it.

[ He pauses, then decides that yes, sharing water would be an acceptable price for having a true healer of humans around to care for Raf, if need be. ]

I do have a small quantity of water stored at my quarters that we could use, if you'd like. And if it's not consumed during said demonstration, you would be welcome to keep some.

[Korra beams.]

Sure, of course, absolutely--!

[She gushes. She seems to notice, and reigns herself in, giving a respectful bow, her entire composure turning toward trying to be formal.]

Thank you, Ratchet, for this opportunity, and your kind offer of water.

[Korra blinks.]

So where do you want me to demonstrate? And what would I be doing exactly, is your friend--ah, the patient--cut or something?

[Korra blinked again.] And if your buddy's not hurt, I can always demonstrate on myself.

[Korra points to the gash on her cheek, the cuts on her arms, and the bandage wrapped around from her back to her chest.]

That normal where you're from? That water thing? [Because you seem really into water. Just saying.]

[Korra pouts, a little.]

[Sounds familiar--oh yeah, herself. Face Tarrlok alone, end up in a whole other world. She was such an idiot.]

Drift...nice name. [Korra thought it sounded sorta elemental, like the drift of water or wind....]

[Korra shrugs.] Yeah, I guess. If my people go too long without water, we--well, we die. And my people people--like my nation--well, we're called the Water Tribe, so, yeah, water's pretty normal for us. Kind of a big thing. And I can bend--y'know, control the water--which is a big chunk of my Water Tribe culture right there.

((ooc: he has a plague he thinks is contagious that liquefies his insides.))

Just trying to keep everyone safe.

[He shrugs.] I've heard worse. I knew a guy who called himself 'Dent'. [That? That's a pretty lame name. ]

I thought that was true of all humans. The 'needing water' thing.

But you Water Tribe can do this bending with water. [That is one deathgrip on the obvious Drift has.]

[Guess who ran all over the planet when he arrived, Korra? This guy. If he's surprised to see an organic he's not showing it ebcause *someone asked a quesiton.*]

"I found ice near sir Liege's fortress would that work for organics? I know you need fluids in a daily basis and ice is basically hardened water you could try to add heat to turn it back to water again but I don't know how sanitary that ice might really be."

I can probably find bottled water around here somewhere. I'm kind of exploring the junk piles right now anyway.

I don't see how it'd heal you, though. Don't you need medical attention for that?

(ooc: Do you know how that plague works? Liquefying his insides? Is there any--LOL--water involved?)

[Korra's brow furrows and she frowns.]

Uh, safe? How does that work?

[Korra agrees. She giggles.]

That does sound pretty bad.

[Korra nods.]

Yeah, it is. And not all Water Tribesmen can bend--one of my tribe's greatest heroes was a nonbender. He had a sword forged from a rock that fell from the stars and everything!

[Slipstream replies, speaking American English, which the link devices probably translate as necessary. And, she's attempting to sound pleasant, which means she probably sounds irritated for the effort, and not pleasant at all.]

What would you give to find water?

[ Ratchet is surprised at Korra's decorum and smiles in spite of himself before he even realizes that he's done so. ]

Ah, it isn't a problem, Korra.

I don't have any injured companions at the moment, but demonstrating on yourself would be just fine... and I can probably travel a bit faster than you are, so why don't you tell me your current location and I'll meet you there?

[Korra's rather used to voices talking fast after living with Ikki and being friends with Bolin.]

[Korra crosses her arm, confident.]

Ice shouldn't be a problem, I can just bend it back into a liquid.

[She frowns though, putting a hand to her chin.]

But how sanitary it would be...that is a good question....

[Korra shrugs.]

My Sifu once had to drink from the water she bent from, and that should've had at least some swampy stuff after using it to fight a swamp monster. That doesn't sound sanitary either, but she made do, and she survived to have grandkids.

[She rubs her chin again.]

Though I could boil the water--I think that should make it clean? Or probably just bend any dirty stuff out, if I find any.

[Korra blinks.]

Um, where is this Liege guy's fortress?

So, that means you have a gift not many have. And you use it for good.

[Oh, did you say the s-word? 'Sword'? Drift pulls the Great Sword from behind his shoulders. It's large--nearly as big as he is tall, with a blue gem in the hilt, glyphs down the blade.]

I'm not sure where the metal for this came from, but it was a relic of my people's past.

Thank you, sir! That'd be really great, I need something portable to carry water around with me wherever I go....

In my world, we can manipulate the water in a--well, I know people have described it as weird magic before, even the great Sokka said so--so, sorta in a...magical way to heal?

[Korra's feeling awkward. How does she explain this? She tried to remember Sifu Katara's lectures.]

Okay, I use waterbending to have the water as this sorta, y'know, like a catalyst for redirecting energy paths through the body. And the human body is made up of a lot of water.

(OOC: Actionspam here's good. And though I've yet to really talk to Megatronus Prime or an Acolyte, I'm gonna assume I'm at his temple right now, he's Korra's current alignment. Or is that incorrect? Do you know if I have to get invited to a temple in-game?)

[Korra smiles back.]

Still, thanks, I really appreciate it, things have been...really weird for me lately. [She considers, and mutters.] I guess you'd know, I've met other people who are all out of sorts here too....

Anyway, I'm hanging out by the temple of Megatronus Prime--I just needed some fresh air, and it's kinda odd having quarters that are as big as a castle. I can wait outside for you.

Um...well, I offered to heal anyone with the water I get, but I can only do that with humans--um, people that already have a lot of water in them, skin and bones, that kind of thing....

I can earthbend, so I can potentially metalbend, and maybe that would work on you, if you have enough earth minerals in your armor...but I don't really know how to metalbend. [Korra looks embarassed. Then she blinks.] Um, I mentioned metalbending because it could probably fix up any dents or scrapes or tears in your armor, if you had any.

Anything else...I really don't know if I've got anything else to offer. I can firebend too--uh, manipulate fire as well. Though I don't see how that could be of use to you.

[Korra frowns, thinking hard.]

What would you want?

(OOC: 'Cause if Korra gets details, she'd totally offer to see if she can use waterbending to help. Then we can get into figuring out if the red rust could even infect humans. And then see if waterbending can do anything.)

[Korra's eyes widen. Her voice is immediately concerned.]

You're sick?

[Korra blinks, looks awkward, rubs the back of her neck. She frowns, her eyes downcast. She hadn't been very effective at using her powers for good lately. More like a complete failure. And she had tried to kill Tarrlok--was that good? Great, she wasn't even sure what good was anymore.]

Well...I try. I've been trained since I was four to use my powers for good, to protect my world....

[Korra's frown deepens, and she stops.]

[Korra gapes at the sword.]

Oh wow, that is so awesome! My people don't even have Sokka's sword, no clue where it is! It fell on the night of Sozin's Comet, and no one's seen it since--!

[Korra still gapes at the sword.]

Wow! How'd you get it?

[There's a pause. Slipstream then sighs, which might convey as something like a mechanical whirr or coo. Finally she speaks, with a definite irritated tone.]

Are you always so obtuse?

[Korra actually smirks.]

People keep telling me that. [The Chief of Police, actually.]

Well, I know that about humans -- I'm not a Cybertronian like most of the other robots here. Er, rather, that humans... they're mostly made of water. So you're able to use external water to help heal yourself?

Interesting technique. I'll let you know if I see anything, kiddo.

[Korra blinks.]

Not Cybertronian...then where are you from?

[She smiles.]

You just tell strangers - granted we're all some kind of fellow refugees - what you need, and all your abilities?

What is it? Do you not trust anyone else's advice, or are you that self-important?
