littlecrowgirl: (You can do WHAT?)

[Video] This is all so crazy!

[Kay's been a very busy girl. Not only is she meeting all sorts of robot friends, but she's been doing analysis. That's right. This girl has been doing STUDIES of you metal beings. Whether or not that's a good thing (pfft, seriously?) has yet to be decided, but you're going to find out the fruits of her labor today. The feed clicks on to show her in her room putting up pieces of paper to a bulletin board she found in the junkpile. Thankfully it came with tacks!  She takes a step back to admire her work, allowing the link to get a full glimpse of what she's been up to.

Page 3

She notices that the Link is on after awhile, hurrying over to pick it up.]

Oh! Hi everyone! I'm actually glad you can see this! I was kind of thinking...ever since Teddie asked if Robots can score...Can robots make babies? I mean, you have to continue the robot race SOMEHOW, right?

I've even started investigating!  Mr. Edgeworth would be SO proud of me, because I've got a lot of evidence.  I'm doing that [swhing!] thing he does!  Okay, so like...do boy robots make the babies? They've got big chests unlike the girl ones, and Soundwave's even opens! Maybe that's where the babies come from.  So my theory is, the robot babies come out of the daddy's chest or stomach. It's the only explanation that fits!

[Her hand moves from the first page to the second page, giving a wide grin.]

This is my relationship chart. I can kind of see robots pairing up here, so I've written them down! But there's a lot of empty ones...I want to help you all find your robot boyfriends! Robrofriends? Is that a good word?  Either way, Just talk to ol' Kay here. She knows.

[And finally, her hand rests on that last page.]

These are just what I think some babies might look like! Pretty cool, huh? I think I remember somewhere that DNA is half and half of mom and dad, so I did that when making this. What do you guys think?

[Go on, admire her stupidity work.]
angleofscience: (shadowed - ugh)

[If he was better at this, he'd pick up on the fact that she'd need a better/simpler explanation! Unfortunately... he's not prone to see the finer points.]

Mmm, yes. While I couldn't devote more than fleeting attention to the societies of the worlds I passed while trying to stem the Decepticon spread, all species with even marginal civilization and culture did have some sort of creation myths.

[Still not his favourite subject, but he has paid some sort of attention to this, as is only proper. Jetfire shrugs, folding his arms over his chestplates, jostling the image for a moment before it settles.]

Scientifically sound and logical or not - and, er... they usually aren't, or at least lacks any evidence for them being even remotely true, all species of some level of culture do portay creation myths in some fashion... Cybertronians aren't different in this regard.

Ours, then, involve Primus, and sparks are supposedly all from his essence... He created the First Thirteen himself, from... er... either "the skin of his world" or "the surface of himself". There's some dispute on the matter.

[A shrug, Jetfire's voice rather dry compared from his more animated explanations earlier. Despite that he doesn't like the subject, yes, he does know the most general information from it... But then, they all do, not that it necessarily means anything... or much.

Nevermind the Well of All Sparks and the presence that had been within...]
angleofscience: (agnostic scientist - disregard no angles)

[He nods, and then at her question... there's an obvious pause and hesitation, Jetfire looking away from a frown on his faceplates.]

That... is a somewhat complicated question. [He looks back, his expression more... reluctant than frustrated and rubs his chin.] There's been some situations where I've had to concede I can't simply deny that it might be possible...

But I haven't seen or been presented with enough proof that the entity known as Primus absolutely exist.

[Something? Most definitely. That is all, however.]
angleofscience: (smile - sweeter than usual)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-05 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Congratulations, Kay, you startled him right out of the mood he was in. Jetfire chuckles, optics brightening from the slightly dimmer shade and glow, and nods.]

Indeed. Some would of course claim I already have all the evidence I could ask for, but it's incidental at best.

That's an interesting comparison though, but I suppose a proper criminal proceeding would be similar to a scientific approach.
angleofscience: (smile - ahh well yes)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-05 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It would be irresponsible at best, yes. Better to stay skeptical in the face of a lack of evidence, as long as it doesn't actively harm you, the situation or others, than to needlessly accept something that doesn't make sense within a scientific context.

[He nods, and then his earlier small smile widens in response to Kay's. It's easier, such things nowadays, after the months in the Keep and with such friends like Jael and Isabella.]

Ah, something you worked with, or was interested to get involved with?

[He's not sure if she's too young or not to work according to human culture.]
angleofscience: (probability of this being incidental...)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-06 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[That makes him chuckle and shake his helm.]

Perhaps, though it'd have less wider use presently... even though I haven't had the extensive possibility to use my scientific knowledge as much as I want, either, it's still proven useful in and out of the war.

I see... That does make it easy to get involved with it. Is that what you'd continue to do when you... er, get older? [He pauses to frown, considering Kay.]

I'm rather sure you're rather young for a human, yes?

[He needed more knowledge about human physiology and surrounding information; what little he'd gathered in the keep was spread out over some species that weren't present here, and he wouldn't presume that such knowledge would necessarily be cross-applicable.]
angleofscience: (awkward smirk - yes if you say so)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-07 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[If not love it, be quite stunned. After a moment, the upper edge of one optic quirk upwards as he cocks his helm.]

... I see. And this is a profession you ought to proclaim for all and sundry to hear?

[Despite the slightly... arch look, his expression and voice is remarkably politely inquiring, not revealing the faint amusement.]
angleofscience: (ttly explaining things - confused yet?)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-08 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
And if everybody know you're this thief... won't they know to guard against you?

[Not that she could (easily) steal most of the things not sized for humans around here, but still. Jetfire managed to keep his bland, inquiring expression.]

Though I suppose if you can steal despite this knowledge being wide-spread, it'd be testament to your skill.
angleofscience: (peer - THAT's a human?)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-09 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[Of course they are. Jetfire merely nods in agreement of Kay's proclamation, rather used to silently agreeing even when he might have a different assessment of a situation.]

Ah, but is it so clever to have physical proof of your plans lying around? And what do you prefer to steal, then?

[Amusing or not, it's somewhat interesting as well.]

angleofscience: (inquisitive - how much data?)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-10 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
That makes sense, and is very useful... Humans where you're from have achieved reliable holographic technology, then?

[Let's just slide over the fact that she most probably uses this for less than legal pursuits.]

... The truth? [He tilts his helm, a frown settling on his faceplates.] How, precisely, do you do that, then? Considering that even the most objective group of observers will still each have a slightly different point of view on any given situation... Even if that difference is merely from the angle from which they observed the situation.
angleofscience: (er - let me process that...)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-11 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Interesting... and yet you've gotten that device easily? One would think, if it's rare technology, that it wouldn't be something easily... ah, gotten.

[How did you get it, Kay, hmm?]

I suppose that does make sense, but does it count if the evidence is gained by subterfuge?
angleofscience: (talking - science is relevant)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-11 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
It's all right; even if he was, it'd be your choice, since it's yours.

[He probably didn't pick up on the possible mood change, so the potential sensitivity in deferring about asking is completely incidental.]

I would agree, certainly. [Jetfire nods, and then shrugs, crossing his arms.] I was merely under the impression that usually, official proceedings like trials would require a particular... standard in how the evidence was procured.
angleofscience: (battle is a science - but better at one)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-12 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
One would hope that merely means the suspect is guilty all the times they've been found so... commendable, really.

[He shakes his helm slightly, not much he can say about that as he has no idea of human criminal proceedings and trials, and has never bothered to look too deeply into what they had had before the war.]

Sounds like you are doing a good job, then.
angleofscience: (smile - sweeter than usual)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2012-09-13 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Too adorable. Jetfire chuckles and nods, a smile growing in response to Kay's own.]

I'm sure you'll be able to get there, with as good a role model as he surely is to you.
