Number II - When you're hot, you're hot... [Video]

[Axel's face appears on the screen, and even shadowed by the hood of his coat- which in itself is unusual, since he tends not to like the hood- he doesn't look too well. He also seems to be bundled up in a thick gray blanket. When he speaks, his voice sounds tired and hoarse, as if he'd been coughing a lot recently.]

Hey, everybody. Guess what? Turns out Nobodies aren't immune to this bug that's going around...

[He's forced to pause there, as he trails off into a coughing fit. He gives a faint groan when he manages to regain his breath, seeming to try and curl deeper into his coat and blanket.]

Dammit... [He sighs hoarsely.] Just... fair warning for anybody that might think of visiting.... don't touch me, OK? Unless you wanna burn your hand, that is. One of the fun side effects of being a fire-user with a fever, ya know...

[Another, briefer coughing fit interrupts him]

Hope everybody else is doin' better than me...

... Nobody? [While there's not many obvious signs of the fact that Jetfire has said "bug" as well, the glow of his optics is dimmer, and his wings are angled downwards. That can't stop the curiosity or the fact that he could offer his help.]

And would an... ah, blanket with internal cooling help? I should be able to make something like that with what I have available. [His vents rattle slightly with each in and out release, but there's nothing similar to coughing going on.]

Yeah... Long story, but a Nobody is a person who's lost their heart. What you'd probly call a spark. 'S a bit different, but that's the general idea.

[If Jetfire wanted more of an explanation than that, it would probably have to wait til Axel was feeling better. It was more weirdness than he had the energy to try and explain right now.

At the mention of a blanket with internal cooling, Axel shivers.]

Might just... Maybe by the time it's done I won't feel chilled any more and actually wanna use it...

[He trails off with a hoarse sigh... that leads into a coughing fit. Once it passes...]

It is, yes. [He sighs, a fuzz of static as he drags a hand down his faceplates. He's got an unpleasant pressure in his helm, and his joints ache so while he certainly wants Axel to elaborate about the Heart thing...]

And that sounds very... interesting. I might ask you more about it later, but we might both not feel the best suited for a properly... er, technical discussion of the similarities or differences at the moment.

[A slow shake of his helm - anything faster makes his gyros spin.]

So, the issue isn't a problem with heat regulation by feeling too warm but rather feeling cold? though if you would be interested in such a blanket I could still make it.

Joy... Seems like half the town's got it by this point.

And 'interesting' is one way to put it, yeah...

[Axel sighs as well.]

Yeah... Doesn't make sense, I know. I know my actual temperature is way up; I can feel it if I touch my face or whatever... but I feel cold, and the air feels even colder... Good thing my Organization clothes and this fire blanket cover both bases; insulating and fireproof...

Who the hell knows though... might start feeling the fever itself any time, if this is anything like similar bugs back home.... So yeah, might be a good idea to make that blanket anyway, if you're feeling up to it...

[All Axel felt up to doing at the moment was laying there and feeling miserable. He was cold, feverish, hoarse from coughing, he ached all over, and at the moment, just the thought of food made him feel queasy, even though he knew he'd have to eat something eventually...]

It's extremely strange that the same virus can have so different vectors, though it's highly possible it's different ones and simply that the symptoms are the same which makes them seem similar--- [Excuse him as there's a moment of pause because his vocaliser just went from faintly rough to basically glitching itself offline.]

Er. Yes. [Sigh. Jetfire drags a hand down his faceplates.] I assume that feeling cold even if you aren't is a typical symptom? And if the blanket needs to be fireproof, that should be possible to achieve as well... it would also give me something to do.

[Doing proper science things and research like this wouldn't be the most clever idea.]

My guess would be two different viruses with the same symptoms... [cough-cough] but if that's the case then there's probably a non-microscopic culprit too, since like hell two viruses like this at once is a coincidence...

[Besides, picturing having an actual culprit to set on fire after this is all over makes Axel feel slightly better. Slightly.]

Yeah. Dunno how it works with robots, but with guys like us temperature is kinda subjective... if our body is hot, the air can feel colder by comparison... Course, sometimes it's just our screwed up systems messing with us too...

[He trails off into a small coughing fit and groans softly as it passes.]

Yeah... fireproof would be a good idea, given that I singed my bedsheets by accident... And thanks.

[He coughs a bit.]

Good thing it comes with being immune to it myself, though... Body temperature as high as mine would've killed a regular human long before now...

[Not that he doesn't feel miserable and chilled anyway, of course.]

Of course not. This illness is proving to be a problem.

[Megatron will give you a wide berth for now. He's seen sicknesses that affect both organics and robots before in Axiom. That was the problem with a city controlled by Cyborgs--they bridged the gap and caused all sorts of nasty things to happen to everyone. Here, however...]

As I have something of an affinity to fire, I would be interested in a demonstration when you are well.

[And Axel doesn't mind being given a wide berth. (Not that Megatron could fit in his room anyway, of course, but details...) This is something he doesn't want to give to anyone else, if he can help it.

...OK, assuming that means more than 'you like to blow stuff up', you've got my attention. [cough-cough] And long as we do it somewhere where there's nothing important to damage, don't mind giving you an actual demo once I'm back on my feet...

[Axel's... actually sort of touched by how many people seem to be concerned about him. He wasn't honestly expecting more than Ven and Sora, because, well, they were Ven and Sora.]
