[Video] ...What IS gasoline? What's it made of? [Locked to Gunmax/Deckerd/McCrane/Brave Police]
In my world, I know it can make Satomobiles or cars and Satocycles and mopeds move...but that's it.
I never thought about what makes it up.
So...what's inside it?
And, huh, where does gas normally come from anyway? I think it has to be put into vehicles, right? So then it must come from somewhere else...?

Welp there you go!
Thus why it's called "fossil fuel".
Re: Welp there you go!
I didn't know, um, the dead could do that....
Okay, I'm tired of beating around the bush, I was asking because I thought I could...
[Then it occurs to Korra, and she brightens.]
Oh, you said gas or fossil fuels are whatever are underground, right? I don't know if I can bend the gas or fossil fuel myself, but I can definitely bend the earth around it, help you dig it out!
[Then Korra frowns.]
Though finding it could be a problem, unless I had like a sample of it, and then maybe I could sense it out with earthbending...or maybe you guys would know how to find it....or we could just randomly dig...?

[Is it like what she said she could do with water? He's curious now.]
Well- wow. I wouldn't know where to start looking, though. And we'd have to find some way to refine it into gasoline instead of just crude oil. I wonder if anyone around here is a chemist.
I may know what ut is, but I'm no scientist.

[Korra gestures, and makes the stone band around her arm unwrap and shift into different shapes in mid-air. She gestured again, reformed them back into the band, wrapping around her arm.]
If you don't know, then maybe it doesn't matter what direction you try? [Korra frowns.] Though random searching like that could be just a waste of time and energy. Maybe you'll have to find someone that would know where to find gas, or even sense it? Refine--it needs to be refined--what does that mean--? Hmmm... I kinda sorta saw on Swindle's feed this Megamind guy act like this big scientist. Maybe he knows chemistry? ...Um, what exactly is chemistry? Not like it's not in my world, I'm pretty sure it is, I'm just not the scientific type either.

[Oh so many questions. You're worse than Power Joe and Drill Boy combined (haha, because they do. Combine that is. Right.) He doesn't mind it too much though.]
Hmm, I think we'd be better off asking one of the bots in charge, actually. I might seek one of them out and see what I can find out.
Megamind? Thank you, I'll message him later and see if he's willing to help us!

(OOC: LOL, I think Korra can get carried away, especially in a strange place like this.]
Huh, good idea.
Your welcome, hope that helps.
no subject
[He smiles warmly.]
It does. And there are always other alternatives, I'm sure. Probably not as efficient, but we can burn other things for fuel.
no subject
'Burn...?' What do you mean by that? Does it involve actual fire?
no subject
Not the way you might think. When you put a small amount of gasoline into an enclosed space and ignite it, it creates a little explosion and a whole lot of energy. Engines like mine create many of those little explosions and the energy they produce is harnessed.
no subject
And those explosions are what make stuff move, like Satomobiles? Gives you energy?
no subject
Yes, that's the... abridged version, anyways.
no subject
I...I kinda thought it was just jealousy before too, but they were talking more about oppression...and I think they have a point. The bender Councilman and the bender cops rounded up nonbenders who really did look...helpless, against their bending. And on the very first day I was in the city, this bender gang was messing with this old man!...
[Korra hisses, frustrated.] Regular jerkbenders right there.
[Korra nods.]
Gotcha.
no subject
That's really terrible. [He means that.]
Those who have power should use it to protect and help those who do not. That should be the order of things.
no subject
Should be....
How's it work for you? Holding up that order?
no subject
no subject
Um, what kind of things do you do to hold up that order, exactly? Does your world have gangs too?

[Korra snickers.]
no subject
[THAT SOUNDS PAINFUL.]

Metalbending only works on metal that has any earth minerals in it, and the cops would never bend a living person! Chief Bei Fong wouldn't allow that, ever!
[But Bei Fong had resigned as chief. And Korra never thought the cops would use their bending against innocent people either. Korra's distressed faces grows, but she tries to hide it.]
no subject
[AHAHAH uhg. It reminds him of the Hamelin. He shudders to think what someone would be capable of.]
That is... fortunate that they would not.
no subject
Well, either way, there aren't any metalbenders here. Not even me, I don't really know how to metalbend.
no subject
Ah. I see.
[A small relief.]
no subject
[Korra says lowly.] A metalbender can be just as vulnerable to a bloodbender. It's...it's just like it sounds, a waterbender can be strong enough to reach inside and bend the water within a person.
no subject
[He shudders at the thought of blood bending, too. He'd ask why anyone would want to control the blood in someone's body, but he already knows the grim answer to that. Bad people are everywhere, no matter where you go.]
