I... apologise if I was... ah, short with anyone while the pillar's influence was in effect.
[Jetfire shifts his shoulders, briefly glancing away. Thinking of that is just kind of uncomfortable, the way things changed - and didn't - from simply staying.]
I've more important matters to bring up for consideration, however, as during the first examination of the pillar I managed to find out it goes down. It comes from the Lambda, and goes down. And not just under the surface, but into the core.
[Folding his arms over his chestplates, Jetfire frowns. he's not sure how to take the additional information, but there ought to be energy within Cybertron, so he can accept that.]
I believe the best method of taking care of the pillar or conducting more research towards that same course of action would be to go to where it... er, attaches to Cybertron itself, as destroying or otherwise trying to remove it at the surface will leave part of it still on, and in, Cybertron.
So if anyone has any knowledge regarding a way down into the core of Cybertron, if you could speak up...
[Pause. Things have been... awkward the last few days, but.]
Ah, Starscream..? Could I ask you to come with?

Those are some really bad news, though. [Really bad ones. If that thing goes all the way down Blurr wonders if it might be affecting Primus itself. But he keeps that to himself.] If there's an expedition, I want to come.

[Even if Starscream had obviously been extremely annoyed that this... alternate possibility hadn't defected and he had. Jetfire, faced with that, was rather relieved he had.]
Unfortunately, yes. [Rubbing his chin, Jetfire drummed his fingers against the workbench and considered the equipment he did have.] If the pillar had merely been buried a short distance into the surface, it would have been far easier to get rid of it.
But as deep as it is, I believe it's imperative we remove it somehow, considering that even with the changes nullified, it still has an effect on us all.
[And there was that energy siphoning as well...]

[Starscream is always annoyed by something, in Blurr's opinion.]
It could hurt the planet itself too. I know Cybertron's dead in some realities, I wouldn't like that to happen here. But once we find the bottom, then what...?

It... well. It sort of is. [With a soft sigh, the static barely audible, Jetfire folds his arms over his chestplates.] The pillar is not just channeling energy into the core, but drawing energy from it as well, [One hand twitches up towards his glyph] energy that seems to be tied to our glyphs.

If you want to kill me, you should really be more straight forward about it.

[Honestly, Starscream... Jetfire can't quite keep his smile from emerging.]
And shouldn't you be used to flying down into "pits of death"?
[Then he just shakes his helm.]
Whatever will happen when we venture down there, I doubt it would cause instant deactivation, though there's a chance the pillar might have more defenses at such an important connection.
Either way, I also want you to accompany me because I want to see what your null ray might do. If it affects the pillar the same electrical systems are, we might have a way of circumventing its effects while working on a more permanent method of getting rid of it.

But yes I can see that you would need me for this situation.
[He is that important after all.]

[If everyone was going to insist he not blow things up on the surface, he was going to blow them up underground.]
no subject
If that's what you wish to do, I'm not going to say no.
[Despite that, this feels somewhat awkward. Because of the... thing at the pillar, because this is a Megatron... Quite a few things.]
Even if no quick or simple method of going down may present itself, I believe we will need to go down either way, as removing it at the surface may prove useless.

[Given that he'd been THERE with you, and also his post on the network.]
If you're heading down, then having the experience of a miner will be useful to you. I'll begin looking for surface cracks.
If there's something it wants in the Core, then there's got to be another access point to it.

Even if no one knows of any way down, I believe we may have to risk exploring to find one, given that we have no way of removing the part of the pillar that extends underground from the surface.
We will just need to find a way to remove anything left behind without coming into contact with it ourselves, if damaging it is not enough to remove the effects it has on others..

[Shaking his helm, Jetfire lets out a sigh.]
But yes, even if we had had a... er, groundbridge? coordinates would be a necessity.
[He nods.]
Yeah, the bridge is useless without coordinates. But, uh...if you find a way, I'm willin' to go too. I used to work construction, well, do work construction here, if that would help in decidin' how to take it down.

I've been useful on expeditions before.

[He would rather you didn't, really, but, with a slow shake of his helm, he decides not to say no.]
Additional viewpoints would have potential benefits, I admit.

When do you plan on going?

[The impression it had left upon him still made him shiver, even though the effects that had come with his accidental contact of the Pillar had faded by now. It was bad news, and he was only thankful that Rose had kept him from getting into contact with anyone else at the time.]
I've been down to the Core. Hopefully we don't need the Firstforged around to access the lift since I went with Prima at the time, but there's a way.
[It's quiet, but firm agreement; Jetfire doesn't particularly want to remember what happened when the pillar overpowered his concious thought processes, but he does. Hot Rod's revelation that he knows a way down, however, startles him out of the darkening thoughts.]
That's excellent. Possible... ah, stipulations or not, it gives us somewhere to start, and even if it does need a Firstforged... we might still be able to get it to work, somehow.
Would you want to go the whole way down, or would you prefer to just show us the location of the... ah, lift?
[he's curious, but he's not going to ask how and during what circumstances Hot Rod got to see and go down there. At least not right now. Later, maybe.]
I was going to try going down there anyway to see just how bad it was. I'll tag along. When were you wanting to do so?

I got near it and I started burning up.
Video
[He shakes his helm.]
Since merely being close to it brings issues of wanting to touch it, nevermind actually touching it --- you're all right now?
[Jetfire frowns, eyeing Albert closer. Well, as all right as one can be of spending some amount of time on fire, at any rate.]
Video
I think so...I'll see if anything comes back.
